Have you seen a movie online before it’s theatrical release? As Hollywood increasingly incorporates multiple digital technologies in their production workflows, the threats of leaks and security breaches proliferate. Ralph Echemendia, The Ethical Hacker, will discuss and demonstrate how vulnerable movies, television and music productions are to digital theft.

Bio:

Ralph Echemendia has been involved in the research and development of internationally recognized courseware and certifications as well as key security technologies currently powering some of the most powerful e-commerce sites on the Internet.

He often collaborates with other well-known industry professionals on many different areas of information security and has been a freelance technical editor for Pearson Education, EC Council, Jones & Bartlett and Cisco Press. Mr. Echemendia has appeared on KTLA, CNN, Fox News, Animal Planet, USA Today and Forbes magazine.

Recently Ralph worked with award-winning Director Oliver Stone as technical security consultant on the Universal Pictures release “Savages” and was directly responsible for findings in Summit Entertainment’s Twilight: Breaking Dawn investigation as well as many other high profile entertainment leaks.

Mr. Echemendia has applied his knowledge and experience in digital security to the entertainment industry as Information Security Executive for Terremark Worldwide, which was acquired in early 2011 by Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ).

For over 20 years, he has conducted secure infrastructure deployments, security audits and penetration tests, managed numerous technology teams and budgets as well as consulted for multiple organizations around the world, including the United Nations, various hospitals and financial institutions. Over the last 10 years he has written and delivered training on Hacking and other information security topics to the US Marines Corps, NASA, Army, Navy, SPAWAR, Bristol Meyer Squibb, Google, Oracle, AMEX, Boeing, Intel, Microsoft, Symantec and IBM.

Mr. Echemendia has handled some of the largest breaches and cases in the entertainment industry and has successfully provided corporations and law enforcement the necessary evidence to prosecute. Recently he has joined forces with some Hollywood’s most influential names to address operational security, intellectual property and piracy issues.
