Enhancing Password Based Key Derivation Techniques - Stephen Lombardo, Nick Parker

Abstract:This presentation will explore two methods to enhance the common Password-based Key Derivation techniques used to defend against brute force and dictionary attacks on user-provided passwords.

Bio:Nick Parker specializes in solutions for security-enhanced applications at Zetetic (http://zetetic.net). He is a core maintainer of SQLCipher (http://sqlcipher.net), a popular full-database encryption library, and STRIP, a secure password management solution. Stephen Lombardo is the founder of Zetetic, as well as the SQLCipher project and STRIP, releasing the first version of STRIP for Palm OS in 1998.
