With tablets and smartphones the holiday gifts of the past two years, personal and ‘foreign’ devices are becoming the de facto standard in managing enterprise data and accessing their networks. Non-corporate-owned devices are playing an increasingly-large role in the risk posture of today’s organizations as issues of ownership and haphazard management reign. This session will highlight a risk-oriented decision-making framework for those managers interested in securing their BYOD environments.

Pete Lindstrom is Vice President of Research for Spire Security where he employs technology risk management and economic principles in analyzing various security practices, technologies, and architectures. He specializes in identifying efficient, effective techniques for securing new technologies and is well-known for his work in metrics and measurements. In his previous life, Pete has been a U.S. Marine, an IT auditor, and a security architect.
