Why Aim for the Ground? - Teaching Our School Kids All of the Right Computer Skills
Phillip Fitzpatrick
Derbycon 2014

Teaching Our School Kids All of the Right Computer Skills – We are raising technologically limited children. Many know how to point and click, but they don't know how the technology works. To make it worse, most teachers lack the skills, abilities, or resources to teach technology to teenagers. In this talk, the speakers will show why our kids need to learn fundamental computer skills in a fun and ethical way. They'll encourage attendees to reach out to both kids and schools as part of the solution.
