DADSEC 102 - Richard Cassara Converge 2018 (Hacking Illustrated Series InfoSec Tutorial Videos)

DADSEC 102
Richard Cassara
@rjcassara

Don,t worry if you missed DADSEC 101 (presented at A2Y.asm 2017), in this follow-up we,ll review the major concepts of DADSEC (low effort and low cost solutions that can achieve impactful improvements to security) and expand upon them to explore how the lessons learned from securing a home network for one,s family can be applicable to business as well. After all, you don,t always need a blinky box with an expensive support contract to monitor and alert on your endpoints and network traffic.

Rich Cassara is a systems/devops engineer based in Ann Arbor. Due to the nature of working on federal government systems, I,ve developed a strong sense of maintaining the tight balance between security, usability, and compliance. When not working on systems or code, I spend most of my time with my family ({wife:1, kids:3}) and taking on various home improvement tasks to varying degrees of success.
