I Amateur Radio (And So Can You) - Kat Sweet (Circle City Con 2015 Videose 2015) (Hacking Illustrated Series InfoSec Tutorial Videos)

I Amateur Radio (And So Can You)
Kat Sweet

Circle City Con 2015

Ham radio: it's the 100 year-old technology that refuses to die. Whether you're a wireless enthusiast, electronics tinkerer, or just someone who wants to be able to communicate during the zombie apocalypse, having a ham radio license can open a new world of possibilities for any hacker. Come learn how and where to get your license, what you can expect to study, how you can work radio into your everyday hacking, and anything else you ever wanted to know about ham radio but were afraid to ask.

Bio: Kat Sweet joined the infosec world in 2013 when she gave a certain 3D printing talk at BSidesLV (yes, *that* 3D printing talk). Finally rejecting the conventional wisdom of "don't quit your day job", she will soon be returning to school to study network security. She holds an Amateur Radio Extra Class license (K7FTW), and has the supreme privilege of running CircleCityConÆ,??s first ham radio exam session. She is also (among other things) a lockpicking enthusiast, lyric mezzo, and prolific knitter. Kat lives in Madison, WI with her kittens, Mal and Zoe.
