James Risler discusses the complex nature of learning how to identify threats and intrusions on the network with the variety of technology products and SIEM tools available. The responsibilities often include the following areas: monitoring, traffic analysis, event and alarm handling, and incident response. Finally, we will conclude with looking at some cyber attacks and how a security analyst could have helped identify the attack.
