BSides Rhode Island 2013

Presenters: Kati Rodzon & Mike Murray - MAD Security

Title: Bite the Wax Tadpole - The importance of culture in user security

Abstract: Social engineering and security awareness efforts are often delivered under the assumption that one product will be effective with all users. Unfortunately, regional, linguistic and organizational differences between users are often the key factor between the success and failure of your human security effort. In this talk, MAD Security's Katrina Rodzon and Mike Murray will illustrate just how important cultural issues are to the success and failure of an organizations human security effort and along the way expose how truly annoying/difficult/challenging/finicky changing human behavior can be.

Recorded at BSidesRI 2013.
