These days it seems impossble to make it through an infosec con, meetup or twitter argument without encountering the phrase "imposter syndrome." It,s on the tip of everyone,s tongues, and yet is not officially classified as a psychological disorder. Johnny Xmas has worked with a doctor of psychology to get to the bottom of the question "Does everyone have imposter syndrome, or are we all just impostors?" The result is a frank, candid conversation covering something we all already knew - we,re our own worst enemy. Johnny Xmas is a Security Researcher for the US-based ICS Cybersecurity firm Uptake Technologies, who are dedicated to the philosophy that machines never have to break. He,s been speaking internationally on the topics of Hacking, Privacy and Career Advancement for nearly 15 years, both in and very far outside of the Information Security community, and is most well-known for his involvement with the TSA Master Keys leak of 2015-16. His infamous mixture of humor, raw sincerity and honest love of people often leads to lighthearted, but at their cores, serious discussions revolving around our innate desires to get in our own way.
