As infosec enthusiasts and professionals, may of us are acutely aware that our devices may be giving away their current location as they sit in our pockets. What if I told you that your device may also be revealing where you've been and where you may be going soon?
In this talk I will discuss and demonstrate techniques for using wifi probe requests and wardriving databases to geolocate the networks that devices have connected to and create profiles to glean information about the owner, including shopping habits, eating habits, recreational activities, and travel history. Ian uses computers a lot. Currently he gets paid to use them on behalf of CDW's infosec team.
