PwnDrone: The Modern Airborne Cyber Threat - Devin Gergen @DevinGergen Bsides Cleveland 2015 (Hacking Illustrated Series InfoSec Tutorial Videos)

PwnDrone: The Modern Airborne Cyber Threat
Devin Gergen @DevinGergen

Inspired by the surge in popularity of drones in the past few years, we look at what goes into putting together an in-flight threat to network security. Built from a nation state adversary perspective, but not a nation state budget, the PwnDrone build takes into account cost and ease in creating a mobile threat to corporate networks. We also look at different attack scenarios from the air platform including network infiltration and denial of service.

Devin Gergen has over ten years of experience in computer security and network operations, including a career with the US military, DoD, and Corporate Industry. During his military career Devin helped defend some of our nations most important networks, as well as performed offensive network operations in exercise and real world scenarios. Devin works for CrowdStrike as a Senior Consultant where his responsibilities include penetration testing, forensic investigation, incident response, and capability development. Devin currently holds the CISSP, GSEC, GPEN, and GMOB certifications.
