RFID sniffing, under your nose and in your face! - Rich Rumble Derbycon 2019 (Hacking Illustrated Series InfoSec Tutorial Videos)

RFID sniffing, under your nose and in your face!
Rich Rumble
Derbycon 2019

While at a client follow up engagement, we noticed the RFID badge scanners had been updated. We asked our client about this, and they knew nothing about it. Just that they get in everyday when they scan their badges. We immediately asked if we could create a physical device to place over the card readers if they didn?t log the cards or interfere with the readers, they were game! What happened during that small test turned into a psychological experiment we?ve been able to get our other clients roped into. This talk is not about easy conquest or pointing fingers at users, to be fair that?s in here; the goal became to improve upon not only the technology but also the people and process. The technology can?t be the crux of your physical boundaries, let Rich show you why.

Rich enjoys talking in the 3rd person, long walks on secure beaches and LED lit dinners. Rich likes to push the boundaries of what is acceptable and has been a natural hacker all his life. Rich has been in the security field for 12 years and uses a lot of colloquial phrases in his Bio's. Come see Rich talk about cool and interesting topics, before Rich is put out to pasture.
