Hacking is dead. I could probably not count the number of times I have heard this over the course of my career. A security scanner was invented that will automate what you are doing. "We just installed new endpoint protection software that will prevent any of your hacks from working." Despite the many proclamations of the demise of hacking, the need for people with hacking skills is greater than ever. There are currently more open jobs in the field than there are people to fill them. We will talk a bit about why hacking will never die, how hacking has changed over the years, and why now is probably one of the best times to get into the field. We will look at how hacking skills can benefit just about anyone in IT and information security, and provide some advice for people new to ethical hacking or who are looking to get a job in the field.

Michael has an extensive background in penetration testing over the course of his career. He is experienced in all aspects including red teaming, web application testing, wireless assessments, software security assessments, and social engineering.
