Why People Suck at Delivery: How to get your security projects off the ground and into production!
Nick d'Amato
BSides Columbus Ohio 2018

Ever get that feeling that your security project was doomed from the start? We all have. The reality is that we often inherit other people's messes and we find ourselves in the position to make something that was oversold, underfunded, and behind schedule a reality. This talk will focus on the steps, along with tips and tricks, with getting the security project from architecture/design to production and into support. We will discuss what amounts to 'the grease' that gets all security project team members, stakeholders, and support staff moving in the right direction.

I have 10+ years of experience in IT and have worked to deliver dozens of projects in that time. For the past few years I have been in security and have recently discovered my passion for it. With experience implementing Next-Gen AV, DLP, Cloud deployments, and many more. I, like most people, have made my share of mistakes and I'm here to share what I've had to learn the hard way.
