This talk will provide an update on the BMG v. Cox Communications litigation that found an ISP liable for assisting copyright infringement to the tune of a 25M USD jury verdict. After stepping through the mechanics of how Cox lost its DMCA immunity - and displaying the internal e-mails that caused the loss - Alex will discuss the import of this decision and specifically the types of copyright enforcement activities applicable to Kodi addons that are currently in force overseas, what we can expect domestically (including deep packet inspection and how that could be funded), and the countermeasures that could frustrate these activities.
