Software patents are a huge source of controversy and discussion in the tech world. Jason Scott, historian and raconteur, was a witness in a rather large software patent case that resulted in six patents being invalidated. And it all rested on a piece of plastic. This semi-hilarious legal story will cover the experience of the case, the details, and how the entire process went down. Hopefully some combination of entertainment, education and insight will ensue.
