Bio: “John Sammons is an Assistant Professor at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. John teaches digital forensics, electronic discovery, and information security. He is also the founder and Director of the Appalachian Institute of Digital Evidence. John is the author of “”The Basics of Digital Forensics”" by Syngress. He co-authored the digital forensics chapter in “”Forensic Science: Current Issues, Future Directions,”" co-published by the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. He is currently working on his second book for Syngress as well as a digital forensics chapter for the upcoming text “”Introduction to Information Security: A Strategic Based Approach”" to be published by Elsevier. John is a former Huntington Police officer and currently serves as an Investigator with the Cabell County (WV) Prosecutors Office. As an Investigator, John is a member of the WV FBI Cyber Crime Task Force.”
