The Internet of Things: Vulns, Botnets and Detection - Kyle Stone (@Essobi), Liam Randall
Derbycon 2013

Description: Does the ‘internet of things’ scare you? It probably should. We’re going to be discussing why embedded device security is laughably bad, handling vendor notification, and setting up a dev environment to build embedded software. In addition, we will be dissecting an incident response of Carna, and defensive techniques for protecting embedded devices.

Bio: “Kyle is an information security engineer who devotes his spare time to exploiting the ‘internet of things’. He enjoys lockpicking, CTFs, tinkering with electronics, exploit development and blogging about his findings. He is the founding member of Louisville Organization of Locksport.
Liam is a member of the of the Bro core development team, spoken at Shmoocon 2013, and the creator of the infamous Cherry DoS (Denial of Sobriety). His wife is due 9/30 with their 3rd child and he may not actually present his slides.”
