Enterprise Security Operation Centers (SOC) receive thousands to millions of security events per day. These volumes of traffic force responders to triage what work is performed leaving most events uninvestigated. Since the beginning of 2016, research has been conducted in conjunction with Higher Education, Law Enforcement, and Enterprise SOC’s to develop methodologies to evolve events into higher level knowledge using paradigms and models borrowed from physical Law Enforcement.
In this session, the theory and practice of evolving security events will be explained. Data from production networks in Public and Private sector will be reviewed in this session. This session includes a demonstration of code. By day, Charles Herring is a Cyber Security Specialist at Cisco.
