Wireless Intrusion Detection System with Raspberry Pi - Chris Jenks (Circle City Con 2015 Videose 2015) (Hacking Illustrated Series InfoSec Tutorial Videos)

Wireless Intrusion Detection System with Raspberry Pi
Chris Jenks

Circle City Con 2015

This talk covers a distributed Wireless Intrusion Detection System using multiple Raspberry Pi boards. While there are more polished solutions on there, this solution works as a good proof of concept, or in house solution for small to medium businesses. This talk covers why scanning is needed, cost comparisons, a quick overview of setting up the Raspberry Pi, and the problems I've seen and had to adjust for since the original Proof of Concept. With luck and time permitting, we'll have a small version set up in the room, and we can show how the system works in real time.

Bio: Chris Jenks is a graduate from Eastern Michigan University; he has a Bachelor of Science in Information Assurance. He works full time doing security audits, firewall design, network consulting, and troubleshooting. His previous talks include Linux hardening, and Open Source Intelligence. His Raspberry Pi WIDs was published in the Linux Journal in December 2014, and the talk is related to the article.
