Tech1 - Session #4 - Dustin Hutchison The recent high profile credit card breaches at numerous retailers have been related to malware. This case study will focus on the technical details related to Backoff, BlackPOS, and FrameworkPOS malware, utilizing indicators of compromise (IOCs) to identify and respond to variants, and a reevaluation of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) prioritized approach.

Bio: Dustin Hutchison - Dustin is a Vice President and Executive Manager at Pondurance and has over a decade of experience in information security, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Pondurance, Dustin was a risk and compliance professional at Franciscan Alliance focusing on HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, and risk assessments for new technology acquisitions ranging from infrastructure solutions to patient care devices. Prior to Franciscan Alliance, he was a cyber security analyst at Midwest ISO. Dustin is also currently an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech Community College teaching Linux and Microsoft classes. Dustin holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in computer and information technology, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with an Information Technology Management concentration. Dustin is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), and holds the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) and CompTIA Security+ certification.
