"As the investigations manager for several healthcare services companies, I have observed many of the same threats and vulnerabilities with all of them. This presentation will be based on analysis of ransomware threats and experiences with ransomware incidents at these healthcare companies over the last two years. It will also cover steps you can take to reduce the risk and impact of ransomware threats.

Tim currently works for Cisco Systems as an investigations manager on the Active Threat Analytics team. Tim monitors client networks to detect security incidents and provides expert incident response against an ever-increasing list of attacks (phishing, malware infections, web application compromises, etc.) to ensure protection of company data, accounts and systems. He also develops investigation methods, analyzes threat trends and does vulnerability assessments. Tim enjoys teaching cybersecurity awareness and computer security principles, part-time, at a local university. He has given presentations recently on malware, exploit kits, mobile device security, web application security, network security monitoring and compliance.
